Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I sign up for traffic school?
A: You must first wait for the Court to send you a courtesy notice which will indicate your eligibility for attending traffic school. If you are eligible, you must pay both the bail and the administrative fee prior to completing traffic school in order to receive credit for taking traffic school. While it's not neccessary in all Courts, NTSA recommends that you pay the Court fees first.

Q: How do I know if passed my final examination?
A: If your traffic school course was either in a book or video format and you provided an e-mail address, you will be notified via e-mail within 24 hours by NTSA after your exam has been graded. If you took an online traffic school course your final examination results will be displayed immediately after your examination and also sent to your e-mail address, if one was provided.

Q: When was my proof of completion sent to the Court?
A: Proof of completion is sent electronically within 24 hours of completion for internet traffic school courses. For non-internet traffic school courses, your proof of completion will be sent to the Court within 24 hours of the final exam being graded by NTSA.

Q: Do I need to take my certificate to the Court?
A: No, NTSA will send your proof of completion electronically for you.

Q: I paid to have a certificate copy, why did I not receive one?
A: NTSA does not produce certificates, our Courts are notified electronically. This is something that your traffic school charged you for and IS NOT an offical Court document. It cannot be taken to the Court as proof of completion.

Q: I completed traffic school, but the ticket is still on my record. What do I do?
A: Due to the high volume people taking traffic school, for whatever the reason may be, some people don't get credit for attending traffic school. You should contact the Court first just to make sure that you did not forget about another ticket you might have received or maybe there is an outstanding issue with that case. If the Court needs NTSA to resubmit your proof of completion, they will have you call us or they will contact us directly.

Q: What should I do if I am too close to, or past my due date?
A: If you are not experiencing technical difficulties in taking your final exam, you should contact your Court immediately to determine if they will grant you an extension of time. If you are experiencing technical difficulties with completing your final exam, contact NTSA ASAP so that we can help you resolve the issue.

Q: Can I FAX my final exam from the book or video course I took to NTSA?
A: In some cases it is possible to FAX your final exam to NTSA. Check with your traffic school or NTSA to determine if this is acceptable.

Q: I was charged more than once for traffic school, how do I get reimbursed?
A: You must contact your traffic school and have the additional charge(s) reversed.

Q: I provided incorrect or incomplete information when I registered for traffic school. How do I correct it?
A: If you have not yet passed the final exam, you need to edit your information on the traffic school's website or contact them for assistance. If you have already passed the final exam, then you can use the contact form on the CONTACT NTSA tab above and let our Customer Service know what needs to be updated.

Q: How do I file a complaint about a traffic school?
A: You may file a complaint with NTSA either by mailing your written complaint to:

NTSA
2035 Corte Del Nogal, Suite 165
Carlsbad, CA 92011

or you may send an e-mail to cs@ntsa.us. Please include your contact information. We take complaints very seriously and will investigate your complaints and will notify the traffic school and Court of our findings.

Q: I am a home study traffic school and I want to apply to be added to the list of NTSA approved traffic schools.
